Tyrrel Bay, Carriacou
I’m watching the sun set over Tyrrel Bay. We did our first passage today, from Grand Mal, Grenada, to Carriacou, a small island to the north.
We left at 8:45 am and arrived around 3 pm. The conditions were lovely: 15-20k winds, small swells, a beam reach and sunshine the whole way. And for some inexplicable reason, I am exhausted. The kids have gone off to hang with the Swifties (Island Swift), a another sailing family we met at the boatyard.
It’s strange to know that we’ve left the Grenadian mainland behind. We were there for over a month and were starting to feel we knew the place. And that, as any sailor will tell you, is when it is time to go.
