Waking up in lovely Grand Anse d’Arlet, a picturesque French/ Martinique seaside village. It’s around 8:00 a.m. and the Striders (s/v Strider and family) have already gone. So the Cedar teens will wake up to no social life. However, a couple of days en famille will be good, je crois.

Yesterday, we hauled anchor in Marin and sailed on a lovely run to Diamond Rock (expand?), and then round to Martinique’s western side to tuck into this little cove. It was a great sail, smooth and quick.

After the anchor was set and we’d eaten lunch, Niamh hooked up with the Strider kids, Blake caught up on some school work, and Moss & I went snorkelling along the north side of the cove — a fine opportunity to try out the spear gun La Vagabonde had give him. Unfortunately, he did not catch our supper. He did free dive a couple of conch, but they were too small so we put them back.
